Graduation Reguirements


To receive a diploma from Hampshire Regional High School, a student must earn 21.5 credits. Among those credits, a student must earn:

  • 4 credits in English.
  • 3 credits in History and Social Science:
For the class of 2007 and 2008 - 2 credits must be in World History and 1credit must
be in United States History.

For the class of 2009 - 1 credit must be in World History and 2 credits must be in
United States History.

  • 2 credits in Science with a lab science for students interested in college.
  • 2 credits in Mathematics for the classes of 2007, 2008, and 2009. Beginning with the class 2010, 3 credits of Mathematics will be required. One credit maximum, to meet the mathematics requirement, may be earned by passing one of the following:
Personal Finance, Accounting 11-12, or Advanced Accounting, if the courses are available.

  • 0.5 credits in Health.
  • 1 credit in Physical Education Grade 9 - .5 credits (one semester) Grade 10 - l2 (.25 credits each semester -meets every other day)
  • 9 elective credits.
Additionally, students will be required to complete 30 hours of community service, 15 hours in History and Social Science grade 9 classes and 15 hours during the junior year.

Diploma requirements for students receiving services under Special Education shall be the same, except in cases where the evaluation team for an individual student recommends requirements based on achievement commensurate with an appropriate degree of success in attaining the goals and objectives as set forth in that student?s approved Individual Education Plan. (The provisions of this paragraph are reviewed annually.)

NOTE: All students will be scheduled for the equivalent of six (6) credits for the academic year.
