1.The SAE 2008 Engineering Scholarship is offered to seniors planning to major in engineering. Applications may be obtained in guidance or by email at http://www.sae.org/students/engschlr.htm
2.***The 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program: Take the 2008 PSAT/NMSQT in October to compete for recognition and college scholarships. This is open to all high school students who meet published requirements. The National Achievement Scholarship Program is an academic competition in which only Black American high school students participate. For more info. go to nationalmerit.org.
3.**The 2008-2009 Lions Youth Speech Competition is for students in grades 10-12. State competition winner is awarded $1,500 and runners up are awarded $500. For more info. see Ms. Monaghan in guidance or call Tom Kowal at 413-527-1434.
4.***The U.S. Senate Youth Scholarship Program 2008-2009 is awarded to high school juniors or seniors serving in elected positions representing the student body. DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 8, 2008 to register for the qualifying exam to be taken on Oct. 23rd. Two $5,000 awards will be given and a trip to Washington, D.C. See Ms. Monaghan in guidance for more information.
5.The Coca Cola Scholars Foundation awards scholarships in the amount of $20,000 and $10,000 to 250 students. Students must apply online at www.coca-colascholars.org. The deadline for applications is October 31, 2007. More info. is available in guidance.

7.The 1st annual Create - A - Greeting - Card Scholarship sponsored by the Prudent Publishing Co., Inc. is a $10,000 scholarship. The contest deadline is 1/15/09. See Ms. Monaghan in guidance for more info. or go online to scholarshipadmin@gallerycollection.com.
8.***"Be a Science Teacher" Scholarship awards up to $1,500 each year for four years. Students who apply to Westfield State College as General Science Majors will be considered for this scholarship. 10.Burger King Scholars Program awards $1,000 each. Applications ar available online 10/15/07 - 2/15/08 at www.bk.com/scholars. Deadline is 2-15-08.
11.***The 2009-2010 Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund offers renewable, 4 year scholarships. 12.***The National CO - OP Scholarship Program gives 185 scholarships totaling $4,500,000 through the National Commission for Cooperative Education. To find more info and apply online go to www.co-op.edu. DEADLINE for applications and essays is February 15, 2009.
13.The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program awards thousands of dollars to speech contest winners. It is sponsored by the National Organization of the American Legion. You may find more information on the Legion website at www.legion.org.
14.The McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship awards $40,000 to high school seniors who have operated their own business while in high school. Applications are due by January 15, 2008. For more information, see Ms. Monaghan in guidance or go to www.mckelveyfoundation.org.
15.Johnson & Wales University offers scholarships from $7,500 to full tuition for students who are accepted into their programs. For applications and/or more information you may call 1-800-DIAL-JWU.
16.The Henry David Thoreau Scholarship offers up to $30,000 to students who will be entering the field of environmental studies. The application deadline is 2/1/09. For more information see Ms. Monaghan in guidance or go to www.thoreauscholar.org to download applications.
17.The Valley Press Club will award five scholarships of $1,000 each in June 2008 to students planning careers in journalism. You may go to guidance for applications or apply online at www.valleypressclub.com. The deadline for application is April 1, 2008.
18.The AXA Achievement Community Scholarship will award up to $725,000 this year to graduating seniors. The deadline for applications for the 2008 scholarship is February 15, 2008. For more information, please see Ms. Monaghan in the guidance office.

31.The Dunkin' Donuts Franchisee Scholarship Program will award 50 separate $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who excel academically, demonstrate leadership qualities, and are school and community oriented. 32.Southampton P.T.O. Scholarship Award offers $500 to seniors who attended Southampton Elementary Schools. Applications are available in guidance. Deadline is May 7, 2008. Please see Ms. Monaghan.
33.Westhampton Women's Club Citizenship Award recognizes two seniors from Westhampton demonstrating exemplary citizenship. Please pick up an application in guidance and return it by April 18, 2008.
34.The Father Robert F. Wagner Memorial Scholarship offers $1,000 to seniors who are either disabled or are studying in the disabilities field. Applications are in guidance and are due by April 1, 2008.
35.The National Kidney Foundation offers various scholarship opportunities from monetary to academic awards. Full details may be found online at www.kidneyhealth.org. Deadline is March 17, 2008.
36.Salem State College Alumni Scholarship Awards offers four scholarships to prospective students that are related to an SSC alumnus. Applications may be obtained in guidance or by going online to alumni@salemstate.edu. Deadline is March 15, 2008.
37.ATTENTION 10TH AND 11TH GRADERS: The Christian A. Herter Memorial Scholarship identifies and recruits 10th and 11th graders who demonstrate strong academic promise but whose socioeconomic backgrounds and environmental conditions may hinder their ability to attain a post secondary education and degree. Deadline is March 14, 2008. See Ms. Monaghan in guidance for applications.
38.Greater Boston PFLAG offers "Elsie Frank Scholarships" to seniors who will enroll in a 2 or 4 year college or tech/voc school in 2008. They will award $10,000. Applications are in guidance or at www.gbpflag.org. Deadline is March 7, 2008.
39.The Kiwanis Club of Easthampton offers scholarships to students from Easthampton, Southampton or Westhampton. Applications are due by April 18, 2008 and may be obtained in guidance.
40.The Mass. Flower Growers' Association will sponsor awards of up to $4,000 for applicants majoring in Floriculture, Horticulture or related agricultural sciences. Applications are in guidance and are due by May 15, 2008.
41.The Priandello Lyceum of Greater Boston provides scholarships to students who have well rounded academic and community backgrounds and financial need. Students who are studying the Italian language are also considered. Applications are available online at www.pirandello.com. The Hillside Agricultural Society, sponsor of the Cummington Fair, is offering four scholarships for $300 each. Applications are available in guidance and must be submitted by May 1, 2008.
43.The Massachusetts Arborists Association Gordon & Frances King Scholarship is awarded to full time students entering the four year Urban Forestry program at UMass, or the two year Arboriculture and Park Management program at the Stockbridge School of Agriculture. Applications may be found in guidance or by going to info@MassArbor.org. Deadline for entry is May 15, 2008.
44.The Holyoke Community College Foundation awards scholarships to students attending HCC in the fall. Applications are online at www.hccscholarship.org and must be in by March 19, 2008.
45.University Women invites students planning to attend UMass - Amherst to apply for one of two $1500 scholarships beginning with the fall semester. A short essay is required. The deadline is May 5, 2008. Applications may be picked up in guidance - see Ms. Monaghan.
46.The Catherine Hewes Memorial Scholarship is given by the Chesterfield Mother's Club. Applications may be obtained in guidance.
47.Scholarship reminder: The Valley Press Club will award five scholarships of $1,000 each in June 2008. The deadline is April 1, 2008.
48.The Better Business Bureau of Central New England, Inc. is calling for entries for its Student Ethics Award competition. A student will be recognized for high commitment to school and community. A scholarship of $500 will be awarded. Deadline for entry is April 11, 2008. 50.The Truehart Award is given to 4 high school seniors ($500 each) who reside in the town of Easthampton. Applications may be obtained in guidance. The deadline is April 30, 2008.
51.The Waste Management Recycle America will award two $2500 scholarships to students who plan to further their education within the environmental field. See Ms. Monaghan in guidance for applications. Deadline is May 1, 2008.
52.The Hampshire County College Fair Association Scholarship awards eight $250 scholarships to students who display strong leadership and community service skills. Applications are in guidance. Deadline is April 7, 2008.
53.The Hampton Ponds Association will award scholarships to seniors who plan to attend colleges or universities. Applications may be picked up in guidance. Deadline is May 24, 2007.
54.The Peg Brodrick Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student who plans to further their education in a health related field. In our district, students from Goshen and Chesterfield are eligible. Applications are in guidance. Deadline is May 12, 2008.
55.The Father Robert F. Wagner Memorial Scholarship awards two $1,000 scholarships to students who intend to pursue a degree or career dedicated to persons with disabilities, or a person with a disability seeking to further his education. Applications are in guidance and the deadline is April 1, 2008.
56.Hampshire County Bar Association offers 4 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each. Deadline is April 18, 2008. Applications are in guidance.
57.Easthampton Little League Baseball/Softball Scholarships are awarded up to $1,200. Deadline is May 3, 2008. Applications are in guidance.
58.The Southampton Mothers' Club gives awards to seniors who are Southampton residents. Applications are in guidance, deadline is May 7, 2008.
59.The Three County Fair Scholarship may be obtained in guidance. Deadline is April 30, 2008.
60.The Robert J. Watson Memorial Scholarship will provide $1,500 to students who have participated in a Title I program for at least 1 year, at any grade level. Applications are in guidance, DEADLINE is April 18, 2008.
61.The Verizon Future Leaders Scholarship awards six $2,000 scholarships to Bay State Games participants. This scholarship is for JUNIORS and applications are in guidance. Deadline is June 11, 2008.
62.The Southampton Lions Club Memorial Scholarship will award two $500 grants to seniors who reside in Southampton. The application must be completed and returned to Guidance by May 12, 2008. Come to guidance for applications.
63. The Boston University Alumni Club of Western Mass. presents scholarships to seniors who have been accepted by a Boston University School or college. 64.The Carole Landry Scholarship,established in honor of Hampshire Regional teacher Carole Landry, is given to a senior who has demonstrated leadership, allegiance to school and also one who plans to enter the field of teaching. $500 will be awarded. 65.The Richard C. Allen Educational Award (sponsored by the Southampton Police Association, Highway Dept. and Transfer Station) disperses a total of $5,000 to seniors who are Southampton residents planning to attend college in the fall. Applications are in the guidance office. Deadline is May 7, 2008.
66.The National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame of Mass. Scholarship Program gives academic scholarships ranging in value from $1,000 to $3,000. Applications are in guidance. Deadline is June 15, 2008.
67.The Eastern States Exposition Western Mass. Trustees Scholarship is available to students who are furthering their education and have participated in Eastern States Exposition youth programs. More information and applications are in guidance. Deadline is June 30, 2008.
68.The Richard and Evelyn Tracy Award is given to a Westhampton graduating senior who sets a good example of spirit and service in their school and community. Applications are in guidance.Deadline for application is May 23,2008.

73.NEW *** The 51st Annual AFL-CIO Scholarship Awards Program is available to graduating seniors. A scholarship exam will be given on Feb. 4, 2009. Check with the Guidance Office to see if you qualify for this scholarship.
74.NEW *** The KFC Colonel's Scholars Program (www.kfcscholars.org) awards up to $20,000. Applications must be completed online and are available from 12/1/08 through 2/10/09. The student must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher.
75.NEW *** The Shaw - Worth Memorial Scholarship is given to a senior who has made a meaningful contribution to animal protection. The award consists of tuition assistance in the amount of $2,000.
