Laptop Home

Thank you for your interest in the Hampshire Regional School District Laptop program. We are excited to provide you the option to lease or purchase a laptop through this program.

Please keep in mind that participation in this program is optional and students are not required to have their own laptops. Furthermore, there is no academic disadvantage for those students who do not participate in this program. The school is well equipped with computer labs and mobile laptop carts for students to use when technology is being utilized in the classroom.

Use of laptops in classrooms vary by teacher and content area, but most, if not all, students are doing computer based research and word processing for paper submission.

Participants in the laptop program will lease or purchase a new, industry standard, Intel based Apple laptop computer. All laptops come fully loaded with various software packages and they are fully compatible with the school's network and servers.

In addition to the software, the laptop is repaired and maintained by HRHS technicians, fully insured for fire, theft, etc., and all units come with a 3 year comprehensive warranty. This is a tremendous savings for families.

The leasing agent for our program is provided for by MASS 1to 1, a non-profit entity set up to support school laptop leasing initiatives throughout the state of Massachusetts. They provide the financing options and service the leases (i.e. collect payments). We are very excited about this partnership and look forward to the benefits they will be able to provide for our families.
